Curious about maggot debridement therapy for dogs and cats? Then check out Alicia Fonseca-Muñoz’ latest article, “Case series of maggot debridement therapy demonstrates safety and efficacy for treating problematic wounds in cats and dogs in Mexico.” Fonseca-Muñoz and her team explored the effectiveness, safety, and clinical value of maggot debridement therapy in cats and dogs, brought into a small animal veterinary clinic in Mexico. The authors found that maggot therapy was quite useful and saved some of the animals from surgery and/or euthanasia.  They also documented some obstacles to veterinary maggot therapy and recommended some methods to overcome them.  To read more of their findings, click here https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1938973625000170.
